Christian Healing
Mrs. Eddy designed the Christian Science Church to "commemorate the word and works of our Master (Christ Jesus), which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing." With this purpose in mind, the healing of all types of problems including physical difficulties have a central role in the teachings of Christian Science. "Today the healing power of Truth (God) is widely demonstrated as immanent, eternal Science ..." (Science and Health p. 150)
As Christian healers, Christian Scientists are following the example of the Master and heeding his command to "heal the sick." (Matt. 10) and recognizing the fulfillment of his promises to those that believe on him. Jesus said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do;" (John 14)
Christian Science Practitioners
A Christian Science practitioner dedicates his or her life to the healing ministry. Those who are devoting themselves full time to this work and having no other occupation are listed in The Christian Science Journal. A Christian Science practitioner can be anyone. They are people who have discovered a spiritual system for handling problems and healing and treating disease. Through this discovery, they found their lives transformed and now want to dedicate their lives to helping others make the same discovery. Anyone needing help, no matter what type of problem-relationship, financial, employment, or physical--- and wishing to turn to God, may contact a Christian Science practitioner for help through prayer.

If you are interested in hearing about the healings that are taking place today, there are many different ways to find them. The Christian Science Sentinel, Journal and Herald all contain a section with testimonies of different healings. Each week the Christian Science Sentinel- Radio Edition broadcasts a new program of interviews and real life stories of healing.
